Yes if you get the Z mount to M42 adapter . I have Helios 58mm M42 screw mount lens and it is fine with adapter . Bare in mind everything will be manual , no electrical contacts on adapter .

Good evening, Yes the adaptor wil work very well. You have to set the camera manually to shoot. Please note the camera must first be set to manual with the original lens attached,it's impossible to access the shooting menu without this lens. Exposure will be trial and error but I think you will find the results worthwhile especially I mono, Regards

Will this work perfectly with the canon r5 with a sirui lens m42 mount?

I use this to mount an m42 zenit mirror lens to an EIS R, so it should work for your m42 lens. You will have to change the settings to allow release shutter without lens as there are no data pins on m42 lenses.
