Keyboard protector: how thick is a cloth? I want this primarily to protect the laptop screen from the keyboard.
A
Approx. 1/2mm thick. Nice and thin and stretchy too. Well suited for this purpose :-) Anyone expecting a "thick" cloth will be disappointed, because these cloths are thin. But that's not a disadvantage, but an advantage, because it makes it easy to reach the edge of your glasses or behind your nose bridge to clean.

Does the MacBook close properly when the cloth is on the keyboard?
A
The cloth is very thin and has enough space between the keyboard and the screen. It even protects the screen a little because the keys don't touch the screen.

How do you program the device, with an cell phone only, or do you use a keyboard?
A
Cell phone or desktop programming for this device is very limited. It's only used to set your WIFI connection and accounts for uploading your data to the Cloud sites.

how does one know if the console is connected to the sensor outside?
A
You will see data from the outside sensor on your console. Look for rain, wind speed, wind direction, UV strength, temperature etc

What is the point of the batteries in the display console?
A
The display console unit can run on batteries only. However, without the a/c power cable, the display only stays on for seven seconds, and to get the display to come on, one has to press a button on the display console. Also, when running on batteries only, the unit will not maintain a wifi connection, so it won't reliably upload weather data to WeatherUnderground or other weather networks.
