Excellent Wildlife camera!
As a habit I usually ignore the instructions of any device I buy and go straight in to picking up the item and getting familiar with the controls first. I only ever pick up the booklet if I get stuck. I decided to wait a few days before making my review because I could not work out how to get the camera to record. Yesterday I played with the record settings and I finally got it to work. (Yes after checking the instructions which as it turns out are not that hard to follow.) You can select "Mode" option on the LCD screen while in safe mode and choose between capturing photos, videos or photos and videos. This was a break through for me since it was automatically set to take just photos when I took mine out of the box and totally missed this option while trying to set up the camera. Picture quality in night vision is what really interests me. In pitch black, the camera is quick enough to capture pictures of mice darting past the camera with good quality. I set mine from 16MP to 20MP and it's great. The video isn't too shabby either. Battery consumption is much less while taking photos vs videos but equip some good rechargeable batteries and your set. I would recommend this product to anyone, I am thinking about buying another.Updated review: I like the first camera I bought a few weeks ago so much, I bought another! One thing I will say about the file type the camera uses is this:It records in AVI so if you want to edit your clips, you will need software to convert it to MP4 first. I have found that Nero Platinum 2018 has an app called "Nero recode" that enables you to convert the files so you can edit in any software you choose.
