Really large screen, wide field of view and no apps / wifi needed
have baby monitor cameras all over my house and I love them. I'm a writer and work from home, but I have pets roaming the house, and I like to keep an eye on them while I work. I also like to keep an eye on my front door and backyard. Yes, I could (and do) use traditional security cameras, but I would like to see a fast long-distance view (day or night) without having to do anything. I have this Dockwell Bella Baby Monitor in a front window overlooking my garden and the 5-inch screen is right next to my computer, so I keep an eye on it. I can see if the trash cans are flying away or if UPS is delivering a package. Baby monitors are ideal for this. One of the things I like about this particular device is that it has a 5 inch screen (very large). Whatever brand you end up buying, I recommend the largest screen you can find - so much easier on the eyes. Also, this Dockwell device has a very wide lens and you can easily and quickly swipe a room from the screen. They can also listen and talk - the animals freak out when I ask them to keep "coming down" from several rooms lol. The night vision of this Bella device is also excellent. However, be aware that if you shoot the camera through glass (as I did), the infrared will bounce off the glass at night, so you do not get a perfect view - even if you can see some things (such as headlights in your driveway, etc .). I own seven different brands of baby monitors, and I have to put this at the top of the list. It is a bit expensive, but the quality is good and it has many features.
