To be used as a protective filter
UV filters are often advertised as being able to improve image quality. In my opinion, this cannot be ascertained. The image does not become more contrasty, sharper or whatever else. On the contrary, even if the filter has a high light transmission and is multi-coated, annoying reflections visible in the image can still occur through the filter. So if you want to have the absolute best picture quality, you should do without (UV) filters altogether. Nevertheless, I find UV filters useful because they can protect at least one lens from dust, dirt and damage. Even when cleaning a lens, you can scratch the glass in the worst case, for example if there are fine grains of sand on the surface. Personally, I like to use protective filters, but opinions differ on the subject. The K series from K&F Concept is practically the entry-level series. With 18 layers of Nano MC coating, the filters are already decent, definitely better than uncoated or simply coated filters, but higher-priced filters would also be better coated on the other hand and therefore even less susceptible to disturbing reflections and even more translucent. Basically it's a difference of a few percent. I think the filter is inexpensive considering the quality. I use the 77mm filter with a Canon RF 14-35mm F4 L IS USM.
