Convenient and Portable; Have the use of Five Reflectors but Carry Only One.
The K&F Concept 5-in-1 Reflector is a cleverly designed and multipurpose accessory that is lightweight, convenient and portable. Reflectors are a fundamental tool in the image maker’s kit. In this case, you have five, but carry one.
When I first saw it, I wondered how K&F Concept was going to supply five separate, unique reflectors; a diffuser and four colored ones. So, what’s the trick?
As I already mentioned, its cleverly done. The collapsable, folding inner frame is the diffuser. Zipped around it is an opaque, reversible cover, the four surfaces of which make up the silver, gold, white and black reflectors. I understand that black is not meant to be reflective, but in this case, it has enough sheen that it’s not going to photograph pure black. If pure black is desired, then cut out a piece of black velvet that can be clipped onto the frame of the K&F Reflector. Otherwise, the black surface can be used, for example, placed over the subject while blocking the sun, putting the subject in shadow and giving a rim highlight to the hair with a blown-out background. Like on a beach.
The framed diffusion is useful outdoors between subject and sun, and in the studio, as a main light source with artificial lighting coming through it. The reflective surfaces are, of course, useful in any environment for controlling and projecting light, whether natural or artificial. And the black surface is useful for subtracting light, creating more contour or more dramatic shadow on a subject. Applications for the K&F Concept 5-in-1 Reflector are limitless.
The photographer/videographer’s medium is light, and controlling light to whatever extent is possible in a given environment is an essential skill for professional results. The K&F Concept 5-in-1 reflector is not only portable, lightweight and durable, but provides a convenient means of manipulating whatever light source is in use, outdoors or indoors, and will enhance any photographer’s kit. The reflector is supplied with a handy, zippered storage/carrying case.
