High quality VND/CPL filter!
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this Variable ND/CPL filter! I've used a variety of screw-on VNDs in the past with mixed results, typically I would be disappointed by color casting, sharpness decrease, and/or the X-shaped vignettes that accompany VNDs. Surprisingly, the only negative artifact this VND filter showed was a bit of vignetting due to the CPL, but that's hard to avoid with any VND/CPL combination. Overall, here are my thoughts:
Pros:
- Maintains sharpness of images
- Maintains color temperature of images
- Premium build quality
- Easy-to-operate design with the aesthetic orange tab for rotating through the VND range
Cons:
- Vignetting can be noticed in the sky at high VND levels
At the moment, this might be my favorite screw-on, lightweight, "throw it in the bag" VND filter. Would definitely recommend.
