Excellent quality softbox lantern
This K&F softbox comes folded in an elongated box, inside a convenient shoulder bag for transport and protection. Being in the shape of a lantern, it is a little more particular than common flat softboxes, but the effect and use are almost identical. Perhaps the most important difference is the assembly, which for this softbox is really simple and quick, just stretch the rods until you hear a click and apply a little pressure to see if it is stable. Same thing for disassembly, just press and then pull up to fold up the softbox. The materials seem very good to me, the covers are resistant and do not risk being torn during the assembly/disassembly phase. It is also very versatile, since the Bowens mount makes it compatible with a wide variety of lights from different brands. The quality of the light is excellent; compared to a flat softbox, this softens the angles of the faces a little more (in fact it is particularly recommended for portraits), but I must say that to notice the differences you have to compare two photos close to each other and even in this way it is difficult to say which one is better since in both cases the light is homogeneous and small details change. So if your indecision is between a 'lantern softbox' or a 'flat square or octagonal softbox' as your first softbox, I would say choose the one with the best quality/price ratio, which in this case I think is quite good.
