Reviews
good capacity, good build, drain test showed them almost to spec. No power-level indicators
PROS
-a full charge and drain test (with the batteries in an Andycine charger that also allows for USB-C PD output to an electronic load) showed that one battery was 43.6Wh, and the other was 43.8Wh. The labels on these batteries say they should have a capacity of 47.52Wh, so that’s not _too_ far off spec (and it’s my understanding that batteries of this type should gain a little capacity after a few recharge-discharge cycles)
-charger can take power from both USB-C and microUSB cables
-using a different charger, these take 20W of charging power (the max that this charger can supply)
-good value
CONS
-no charge level indictor on the batteries (which was “normal” for these in the past, but the better batteries these days have indicators)
-included charger is really slow, even with a PD power supply (best used for top up and maintenance). Charging two NPF970 batteries would take a very long time (I’m glad I have higher spec’d chargers).
NOTES
-always good to have backups to my existing NPF battery supply (I run video lights, monitors, and cameras with these).
MY STAR RATINGS:
1* substandard, mostly cons
2** barely acceptable, cons outweigh the pros
3*** meets the basic requirements, cons balance the pros
4**** good product, pros outweigh the cons
5***** exceptional, all (or almost all) pros
