It might not be the most high-tech, high-end product, but for the serious photographer or videographer, it's an exceptional solution. I love how big it can be. I took a photo of me next to it. I am 175cm tall. If you put it in monopod mode, you can make it even bigger. It's quite flexible. the main downside is that the directions are quite lacking. I took a picture of all the relevant pages. On the other hand, the operation is quite intuitive so with a little tweaking you should be able to figure out how to operate it. You can probably get less functional sturdier tripods for the money. BUT this is a great compromise between quality and functionality. It is better made than you think although it’s long term life I can’t say as yet. It allows almost a unique height range that I could only achieve otherwise using studio supports or booms. It allows overhead video shots on the fly as well as in the studio. For me it will be primarily for studio use for flexible quick setups when i need a shot in a hurry. But I have used it outside and I have achieved angles with a remote that would have been difficult otherwise. I like it. I’d pay more for a deluxe version with perhaps better locking leg positions and stronger springs and hinges. But it’s good, not a toy or gizmo but a practical tool.

The ball head locking mechanism is on the right side, relative to the U-slot which allows for upward aiming beyond the ball head's normal range. This means that if you need to make camera adjustment when using the u-slot, you have to awkwardly reach with your left hand, or reach all the way around with your left hand, because you have to use your right hand to hold the camera steady while you adjust the locking mechanism. The other option is to hold the camera with your left hand, but this requires you to hold the camera by the lens or awkwardly by the body. The other thing that I don't like is that you have to remove the hook at the bottom of the central column if you want to reverse the central column to position your camera closer to the ground. I haven't used enough tripods to know if the quick release is good or not. It can sometimes be difficult to put back in place, but this could be due to operator error.
