Similar to the expensive Pro-Mist filters, this gives videos and photos a more cinematic sheen by adding a slight haze to the image; the filter gives the highlights a fog-like effect without compromising sharpness and also smoothes skin tones. Overall nice filter that fits and protects the camera and is best available than using a cheap UV filter. The glass does not adhere to oil or fingerprints, so you don't have to wipe it all the time.

The black fog filter is intended to give pictures, in particular videos, a dreamlike appearance by creating a "glow effect" for the entire picture. The hard edges of the image are softened, but the contrast in the dark areas is largely retained. Use this filter for best results, especially near the light source. A subtle halo is added around the point of light.

As with most K&F products, the build quality of this filter is quite good. The threads are smooth, the filter ring is powder coated and then the optics ... well, hard to say they are clear or something since it's a diffusion / soft filter but the image quality is still pretty good. More on that later.

Super happy that I found this and saved money as I originally wanted to buy the Tiffen filter. It worked well for me and I am super happy with the results it is giving!

I was undecided whether to go for this product or another from a better known brand. After trying it out, I am very satisfied with the visual and structural quality.

You can see from the images, this makes your image more cinematic, it does add a bit of a soft touch to your images. This filter paired with my Sony A7S III and 24-105mm F4, gives me a whole new perspective! So happy with this purchase!

I’ll be honest up front, I ordered this mistaking it for an ND filter, I’ve decided to keep this though as I really like the effect it produces.
I’ve been getting into landscape photography and wanted an Nd filter but ordered this by mistake, after having a play and wanting to eventually push into portrait I decided to give it a try.
The results are surprising good, it adds a nice glow to bright light sources that give the images some warmth.
The filter is presented in a lovely case with rubber wedges inside that hold the filter in place so it doesn’t slip around.
I can see me using this for product photography and portraits and so far have really enjoyed it

I own Tiffen's Black Promist 1/8 and 1 so I know of their quality. I thought i'd try this new filter from K&F and I am pleasantly surprised! Very good quality and definitely an alternative of the Pro Mist that people should consider. it renders wonderful images.
