I bought it and it was perfect for what I wanted. I wanted to take the 1/2 but then I decided to grow up or go home and got the 1. It's very soft at times, but it's a nice effect if you want that dreamy look.

An absolute must for photos and videos. I used it to take this picture the day I got it and it's the right amount of haze while keeping the details in place. You'd be crazy not to have this on hand all the time!

Personally, I like this filter better than some of the lower strengths, I feel like it's very stylized but still looks great and sleek.

I have the 1 and it looks amazing. The filter is well made, the thread is the same on both sides, so that ND filters fit well. it could be cheaper to buy, but it made my work a little more interesting.

The filter is slim and made of aluminum. The sides have really nice grooves, make using the filter very smooth. Great glass. Actually scratch-resistant. Took out my keys and hey no scratches. Thumbs up.

This filter is not one that I used to regularly carry in my bag, as I assumed it functioned primarily as a mix between an ND filter and a soft filter. But, given the chance to use it for a few days, I realized I was wrong! The 1/4 black diffusion filter (there's also a stronger 1/2 filter) is mostly used for its softening effect on faces, where it can reduce the appearance of wrinkles and blemishes. In that role, it works, although perhaps a bit too much for some photos. I shoot outside landscapes and architectural shots more than portraits, where the filter reduces glare and reflections. It's also good for throwing backgrounds out of focus more than the camera itself manages. The effect, at first glance, are subtle but they are visible in a side-by-side comparison. Mostly, there's a "glow" effect to shots that is quite appealing. The quality of the filter is high, and I use it now almost as a default on my primary 85mm and 105mm lenses. Nice filter.

You can see from the images, this makes your image more cinematic, it does add a bit of a soft touch to your images. This filter paired with my Sony A7S III and 24-105mm F4, gives me a whole new perspective! So happy with this purchase!
