I tested the K&F Concept Nano-X PRO series ND1000 67mm neutral density filter with the Sony A7RII on a Sony SEL-20F18G.

The design of the K & F is a slim filter. This can prevent vignetting in an extremely wide angle, but the slim frame makes handling difficult when screwing and screwing on. More, as easy to handle, I would not turn on the filter. In any case, it should be positively mentioned that the filter has a threaded socket at the front, so that several filters can be screwed one behind the other. In theory, you could also use several neutral density filters in series. Depending on the type, the lens hood and lens cap can also be fitted. The filter comes in a high-quality, sturdy bag with magnetic closure. As a little gimmick, the manufacturer also includes a microfiber cloth for cleaning.

The thread can be unscrewed cleanly. The glasses come from the Japanese house Asahi Glass and appear to have a high-quality finish. I noticed a slight color deviation into reddish. During my tests, however, I found the slightly warmer color temperature appealing. You could easily compensate for this during post-processing. Since my used lens is not susceptible to lensflares, I was happy that there was no deterioration with the filter on. The filter reduces incoming light almost exactly by around 10 stops. The filter only allows approximately 0.01% of the incoming light to pass through. ND1000 means that in order to achieve the same result, we have to expose 1000 times longer than without a filter. This allows you to achieve extremely long exposure times of several seconds to minutes in daylight. I recommend that beginners print out a table to quickly find the right exposure time.

In my attached pictures, you can see the result even with extreme backlight, both with and without filters. I could hardly notice any differences in quality here. With and without filters, there were neither more nor fewer lens flares. These only appeared in other places in the picture. The white balance was set consistently for all shots, manually to daylight, and all other settings were set manually for direct comparison, with the exception of shutter speeds, of course. Here you can see the only slight color shift into something reddish. I was only able to notice a loss of sharpness after 600% magnification, if at all.

So far, I haven't had K&F Concept on my screen in this price range. The price is, of course, an announcement and should scare off amateur photographers for now. However, you don't want to reduce the quality of a lens in the four-digit price segment with an inferior filter, so the investment can also be worthwhile for ambitious amateurs. Because of the impressive optical performance, I give it the full five stars.
Impressive optical quality, even in backlight, with only a slight color shift. Impressive optical quality, even in backlight, with only a slight color shift. I was offered this filter for testing and, of course, took advantage of the opportunity.

I've been doing photography and nature photography for over 2 decades now, which is why I've already used a few filters.

These types of filters, i.e. gray filters or black filters, are used to increase the exposure time during the day.
A longer exposure time is used, for example, to make the flow of liquids softer, the same applies to cloud movements under changing lighting conditions or, as I often use, during thunderstorms during the day, to photograph lightning.

Of course, there are also much cheaper filters, but these usually have a blue tinge or falsify the color rendering or influence the depth of field.

In turn, there are also much more expensive filters.
If you use high-quality filter systems, for example, the filter glasses can cost twice as much as this filter here.
However, these are then not objectively dependent (scope). These are then inserted into a frame that is attached to the respective lens.
However, this makes the application a bit more complex and if such a window breaks during use or transport, it is extremely annoying.

This filter here is simply free of criticism when it comes to photography. I really can't make a point of criticism, but that should also be the case with the price.
It can be easily unscrewed and unscrewed, has no blue tinge or other color irritations and the depth of field is also perfect.

The package also includes a leather case with magnetic closure and a microfiber cleaning cloth.
As a little gimmick, you can convert the packaging into a small photo frame by attaching an enclosed piece of cardboard to the back.

Visually, haptically and technically, this filter does not allow any points of criticism and the yet impressive price is reasonable in this case, when considering market competition.

That's why I give this high-quality filter 5 stars.
Very high-quality filter, at an appropriate price Very high-quality filter, at an appropriate price Very high-quality filter, at an appropriate price

Another high quality pro grade filter from K&F Concept.

Extra slim filter, with a consistent ND1000 density. No color shift or optical aberrations.

Filter threads smoothly onto my lens.

Comes with a nice protective storage case and microfiber cleaning wipes.

the first moment of WOW when you unpack the filter.
What a brilliantly done packaging. What a really beautifully made filter bag.
The storage bag is made from genuine leather material, handmade and produced specifically for K&F Concept photographers. Nan immediately sees here: there is attention to detail behind it.
This is not only very helpful against dust, scratches or dirt, but it also looks very classy!
Absolutely TOP!
The workmanship, design and quality look very high-quality and very well made, and the filter glass texture also makes an extremely positive, scratch-free impression.
The frame is made of brass material, which significantly improves hardness and flexibility, and the screwing and unscrewing is smooth and flawless.
K&F Concept coating technology gives the filter very low reflectivity, which ensures good light transmission, reduces stray light and ghosting, prevents glare and does not affect the original performance of the lens.
A really well made filter.
The double-sided 36-layer nano coating is waterproof, dirt-proof and scratch-resistant and therefore ensures excellent filter durability.
This screw-on filter ensures that you can reduce the light for taking photos. This results in a longer exposure time, which can be used well for certain situations.
We have now tested this filter a few times and so far we are quite satisfied with the results achieved.
It does what the filter does or should achieve well. In this way, waterfalls, streams or moving clouds can be easily blurred or run. Or you can also use such a filter quite well here in areas that are very busy with people. With a long exposure, you can easily make people who are moving disappear from the photos.
But you can definitely recommend it. Nice effects, no visible color changes (blue tinge, purple tinge, etc.).
The ND1000 filter reduces light by 10 stops, which causes no color cast and no loss of image quality.
On the subject
of autofocus and filters: Autofocus continues to work well with the Sony A7 Mark 2 or the Sony 6500 combined with various lenses, although this wears off a bit. Here you simply have to switch to manual focus.
Overall, a really well-made filter, with the advantage that it is easy to install compared to rectangular filters, which require a rectangular filter attachment.

We put a lot of effort into writing our reviews and invest a lot of time. In doing so, we address positive as well as negative aspects of the product in order to explain everything before making a purchase. Who likes bad surprises? So not us. So we hope that our review was useful and was able to help? Thank you so much!

However, I like to use ND filters rarely. If so, I would also like to achieve good results.
I like to work with ND1000 filters because they can achieve the most beautiful effects.

This filter from K&F is made to an extremely high quality (as long as my untrained eye can see it), but is also priced in regions where you should think 3-4 times whether it has to be a filter for this price.

It is delivered in a large, elegantly designed box, which contains an elegant case for this valuable filter. These are all very nice accessories, which are obviously necessary at this price.

My untrained eye again: The comparison with a filter for half the price has shown in a blind comparison that there are virtually no differences visible to the naked eye. This may sound silly from the mouth of a layperson, but it is - for me as a layman - an indication of whether a filter really has to cost EUR 180 in order to achieve great results.

Workmanship, presentation and certainly remuneration are at the highest level - that's why I give it 4 stars.

I think the argument that a high-quality lens also requires a correspondingly expensive filter is wrong. Sure, cheap filters on expensive lenses are nonsense. However, above a certain value, the pendulum swings and the higher price can no longer be justified for everyone.

This filter can compete against the biggest brands in the business. It has exceptional optical clarity and is a true 10 stop ND filter. I use this filter for long exposure shots, particularly nature shots with running water. However, there are many uses.

The overall build feels like quality throughout. This series from K&F knocks it out of the park and is a bargain for the level of quality. Easy to recommend.

KnF’s quality has really been top-notch. This is a beautifully optically clear massive 10 stop neutral density filter. This is as dark as it gets from what I know and it is perfect for taking long exposures during the day to capture lightning strikes or to get beautiful city scapes in the evening.

This thing is is optically perfect as any of the expensive German filters I own. The coating keeps moisture from beating on the front if you’re shooting in the rain, and they’re supposedly scratch resistant but I hope never to try that out.

I own several of this company‘s filters now and I’ve been extraordinarily pleased with all of them. The build quality is as good as my German ones and you can tell how well they’re made by the eaves at which the filters thread onto the lens. Absolutely beautiful. And they come with high-quality cases as well.

The only thing this company can do better would be to go back in time when I was spending 300 bucks per filter and offer their goods back then.

Photo accessories and photo equipment are one thing, but a professional appearance is also part of it. The German website does not have a proper legal notice, which is required by law?!? This should be improved immediately. Consumers expect that a brand/company has a soul and is tangible!

What remains is an impeccable product of the highest quality, perhaps not quite as perfect as original accessories, but good to very good quality at a fair price. The neutral density filter is easy to handle and the images are taken with balanced exposure, which I would not have expected otherwise from this brand. Here and there, of course, you have to reprocess images using software, which is also completely normal and in the green zone. Overall, I'm relatively satisfied, so a solid four stars.
