I took it out on the lake the other day and Was enjoying it. How could I tell if it was accurate? Lol. The bathymetric chart of this lake apparently has wrong readings. For example: A part of the lake according the charts is 5 feet. Reality - 22 feet. True because my anchor was too short to anchor at 20 feet.

Works great and is accurate so far. We've had ot for about 2 weeks and have used it about 6 times.

The handheld depth finder is great. It does exactly what it says. This has changed the way i fish. i am able to find drop offs and contour changes. I identified areas of shallow water i thought were deep. It allowed me to customize my jug lines to meet the water depth .It really improved my catch in volume and size!

So far so good..right out of the box measured a full rain barrel and it was spot on at 3.1 feet...then used it in various spots on the Great South Bay...readings seemed almost instantaneous when I placed it in the water

I bought this to use when scouting new anchorages or mangrove lined rivers in my dinghy. Never expected that my catamaran’s depth sounder would go out and we’d use this as our only means of knowing depth for over two months while waiting on equipment and techs in the South Pacific.
Sometimes it doesn’t register, but usually it works well. We take multiple measurements repeatedly to be sure it’s reading precisely and hope that it’s accurate as well.

I bought this product for several reasons, as a backup for the depth sounder in my boat. For checking the depth off the back of my boat especially when running a stern line to shore. For checking the depth when setting crab or prawn traps. I can confirm it works for depths 300 feet plus. When using this unit you have to ensure the safety lanyard is secured to you or your boat, it does not float. I have been using this unit for the past year or so with no issues.

Works as described. Good customer service. Had some issues with fogghing in the display at first use that went away on its own. The seller is very responsive and attentive. Highly recommend.

Works great on our sailboat with fixed keel on a lake. It is very light and easy to use. Seems to be accurate also which is important!

Until now I had to contact my local marina to get approximate water temperatures.
Now I can get a water temperature real time and the depth feature allows me a more accurate dive plan.
You're scuba diver I would advise getting one of these for your kit
