Good piece of equipment. The fact that the last reading remains on the screen for a period allows the depth sounder to be suspended on a line to reach the surface from the side of a boat or a pier.

I bought this to use on a dinghy with a sailboat. We used it to check our sailboat transducer accuracy and to check areas when the chart accuracy was questionable. This is one of those devices where you can just use immediately with no learning as it's completely intuitive. We used it multiple times under various conditions and had no issues. We checked the accuracy using physical device to see how accurate it was and found it perfect. We consistently got the same measurements with repeated tests. We found it to work quickly and perfectly. I'd definitely buy this handy item again

I have been using this handheld on my kayak for months and love how accurate it is. I have dropped it into the water numerous times and it has not had any water intrusion- Its a great value for the money as well compared to other units I had seen online-

Pretty cool tool for checking depth on the water. I use it in my kayak or in the canoe to get an idea of my depth. Took it out in the winter and compared the readings against my Vexilar. Very similar depths readings between the two. I feel it’s pretty accurate.

This has worked out great so far. I use it to check depth while in my dinghy in places where depths are unknown, or there seems to be a lot of possible shoaling. Best to check depths for anchor rode or knowing if we can bring the sailboat into more protected waters. Whatever your reason for needing a portable depth finder, this one will do the trick.

Bought this to replace my off brand yellow one (which worked well for several years until the end cracked). These handhelds are a must have for our fly in trips to Ontario. These lake have no topo maps and I can have a reading in 2 seconds. My friends with floating fish finders are still trying to connect their Bluetooth/ WiFi and I’m on to the next spot. The floating fish finders are pretty cool and have their place but if I had to take my pick one, it would be the depth sounder. It seems better made than my old yellow one (although they both did the job). The temp thing isn’t really that useful but whatever. Well worth the money.

recently had a chance to use it. verify the sounding of our sailboat. was within inches of our depth sound. light and portable. I appreciate the wrist strap although it is listed as floating, hope to never find out.

I have a pontoon boat and do a lot of fly fishing the old way was a one ounce sinker on my line and a guesstimate . This unit is as slick as they get if I'm in 27 feet of water or 96 feet it is right on the money. Great for Chronomid fishing, and when to use intermediate or full sink line. And you can keep it in one of the storage pockets of your tube or boat. I love it and it's the size of a flashlight.

Bought this to sound depths in the entry channel of our marina off the Gulf of Mexico. Low tide makes it difficult to get our sailboat out without running around. It worked very well at identifying where the deep part of the channel is.
