I LOVE THIS THING. It is so well made and works like a charm. I should have bought it much sooner.

A gimbal head is pretty much essential for a long lens, but it’s a niche product. Gimbals generally are no use for normal photography as you can’t shift between horizontal and vertical operation unless you connect your camera / lens combo via a lens tripod foot and you don’t get them on shorter lenses.
The friction adjusters are rather binary - they’re either locked or loose. However, you can pay a lot more and still suffer that.
The other thing to note is that the gimbal mount will only mount a full sized DSLR (Canon 80D in my case) with the gimbal frame on the left - this means that you have ‘go around’ the frame and the friction adjusters to get to your lens with your left hand. However, a lot of gimbals suffer this and they’re already too big and cumbersome!
This aluminium model is heavier than a cheap carbon-fibre model, but I’d rather trust cheap aluminium welding over cheap CF layup…

Very well made, solid construction, holds the camera firmly and is easy to adjust.

It does what it’s meant to do but it is heavy and feel it’s worth paying extra for a lighter one however it is good and works well

Highly recommend, I was split between this and manfrotto one for my monopod and I must say it's really well built, would highly recommend
