67mm 1/4 Black Mist filter, high definition, waterproof anti-reflection green film, Nano-Dazzle Series
SKU: KF01.2148
I have the 1/4 version of this K&F Concept Black diffusion filter which I use frequently, so I decided to give this version a try.
The filter has a nicely machined ultra-slim frame so it doesn’t show up in the corners of my wide angle photos. It can be attached to the clear protective filter that’s already on my lens if I want to just add it, but I wanted to test it directly on the lens itself. It fit my Canon lens perfectly as well as it fit onto the filter on my lens.
I found that it provided mild diffusion but not overly noticeable. It also provides a natural, softened effect to backlit photos.
It could be used as a protective filter if you enjoy the diffusion effect because it uses high quality multi-coated optical glass but is also colorless.
This filter helps me to achieve a smoothing and softening effects and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for something different in their photography.

I feel this is a very nice black mist camera filter for my DSLR. It is made of high quality optical glass with multiple layers of ultra-thin, nanometer coatings and ultra-light materials. The frame is very light and thin compared to some of the other filters I have. This filter is a 1/4 diffusion/mist and the changes from a normal, non-filtered lens, are minimal. The same filter is available in lesser and greater strengths. But, I thought 1/4 was a good place to start experimenting and for general use.
The price for this filter is very good considering you are getting a high-quality, multi-coated glass filter. In my different experimental shots, I think this filter has a lot of potential for portraits and still-life. I'm also wanting to try it out on some more macro shots. I would certainly recommend this camera filter for anyone still shooting with a DSLR and not their phone. ;-)

In every way this K&F Black Diffusion 1/4 filter is a wonderful filter. Well-made, nicely machined, clear and perfect glass, thin and light, etc, etc. You'll get a very good filter for your money.
The question really is how good is the diffusion effect, especially in the center of the frame where a face is likely to be placed. My tests on some newly budded red bud flowers revealed that the diffusion quality is subtle and excellent from edge to edge. The included photograph is a 100% crop, to capture the quality in the center of the frame. I hope the reproduction on Amazon is good enough to sell you on the quality, too.
This is a fine product and easy to recommend.

I have this on 57mm Sigma lens for my Fujifilm X-T30 and I’m super happy with the results. The effect is subtle but that’s exactly what I wanted out of the filler.

Opening the package and trying to attach to lens threads i dropped it straight away from 170cm to laminate floor, edge first, seems sturdy

K&F continues to deliver and be the inexpensive solution to the expensive Tiffen driven camera filter market. This is a nice alternative if you can't buy Tiffen or other top name brands but you don't want to sacrifice clarity. K&F filters continue to meet or surpass much more expensive filters at a third to half the price!
Let's face it. Lenses are expensive and buying top of the line filters for every lens you own is even more expensive. This lens provides a nice even subtle glow under the right lighting situations. I am looking forward to working with it more to test its clarity. I haven't used black mist filters before and this is a great place to start. My only caveat is that I believe K&F make a hybrid filter as well, that is it's a combination black mist and ND filter so you might want to skip this if a 2 in 1 might be more useful for you. Overall, highly recommended.

It's not my first K&F filter, and after that experience, it's clearly not my last. This filter is from the cheaper series, but honestly - I don't know what could be better in terms of image quality.
There is no loss of sharpness, the multi-layer processing is really good, all aspects are what I would expect from something more common and more expensive, like Tiffen. I can only note that the scratch resistance is poor, but that's not bothering me.
1/4 is the most useful black diffusion in my opinion. 1/2 is a bit too obvious, and 1/8 is too subtle. You can see the difference between 1/4 and no filter on the attached photos. For my aesthetic - it's an EDC filter for film and digital cameras, especially for making digital video.
There's no stacking problem, but if there were, there are ribs on the filter that would help. They may get in the way when you put a vintage lens cap on the filter (in my case, it's an EDC case), but that's not a big deal.
The plastic case is quite small and sturdy, so I can carry the filter inside for filming, it's useful too.
I highly recommend this filter

The K&F Concept Black Diffusion 1/8 Lens Filter gives your footage that Cinematic Effect and knocks off the digital edge. It essentially blooms the highlights, and provides a soothing effect on skin tones.
•
Pay attention to the lights in the background to really see the difference it makes. It’s subtle but noticeable and really makes a difference in the footage.
•
The build quality is nice and has a good grip for removing and and putting on your lens. the filter has threads on the front which makes it stackable with an ND filter as well which is great.
I’ve been using K&F filters since 2016 and the price vs performance has always been un matched. This filter stays infront of my lens 99.9% of the time.

I reviewed this product in May of 2023.
I really enjoy K&F filters for a lot of reasons. They're nicely priced, the quality is good, and there's a nice selection of effects you can select from. This 1/4 black diffusion strikes a nice balance between clean, crisp images and a slightly softer look. The marketing material calls it "dreamy" but in reality its just pulling back a little of the clinical sharpness in the modern lens. Your models will thank you and more than likely your retouching will be a little less time consuming. These also bring a little softness and character to your shots.
Construction is good, as expected and I didn't notice any optical imperfections in the glass. I didn't do much of a water proof test to be honest but a little mist was easily wiped away. The packaging was nice, the case is sorta cheap.
I included a couple of sample images in my review. One with the standard UV filter and the second with the Diffusion filter. The details are lost a little uploading the images but when looking at them both you can see the slightly softer look.
I enjoyed using this and I am planning to keep it in my bag for portraits and other possible uses. Easy option to recommend for a softer look.

Exactly the right thing for the Fuji X-T5 in my case. It gives the pictures that certain something and does what it promises.
