It’s a super easy setup followed by immediate gratification. I use it for about 45 minutes a day and it works great. There are a lot of features I am still trying to figure out but it is a great detector especially for the price!!! I would recommend it to all skill leaves!

Need a metal detector when I go to the outdoor range to detect the bullet shell. Does it do the job? Yes it is. Like I show in the video. Is did feel cheap in every way but it can pick up all the signals I need. I even thought it is too sensitive for my situation and tune down a bit. Although haven't real-world testing on the outdoor field due to the fire ban in Arizona, but I believe if it can pick up the signal like a little 380 bullet, I know for sure it can pick up the signal of the 9mm or event 223. Hope I can help u guys out

I purchased this based on comparisons. Was skeptical on performance at first until I raised the sensitivity a bit and took it out side. I place a quarter, dime, and nickel in the grass. Since I had the sensitivity up, I did get false indications but they were not repeatable like the manual mentioned. As I repeatedly swung the coil over each coin, it correctly identified the values. The secret is to swing the coil level and repeat the find several times as to indicate a real thing!

Things I Like
- Lightweight
- Good carrying bag with room for headphones and shovel
- Good detection and visual indicators rather than a simple meter
- Good instruction manual
- Free extended warranty once purchased - it is in the packaging and you register for it

Things I Don't Like
- It's not turn on and go so maybe not really very young kid friendly - you have to play with it a bit based on your environment. It is easy to adjust once you read the manual.

All in all - at this point I would purchase again. I can't wait to get to the beach to try it out more!

I have been practicing with this and it takes some practice but it will find deeper than 2 inches now.
You just have to tweek it and take note of the emails with the instructions they send.
Company is very helpful and willing to work with you if you have questions.

New to the '"art" /hobby of metal detecting AND this one is reasonably priced. My son and I go to the beach and sand type playgrounds frequently and I thought what a fun way to go searching for pirate treasure. This is not for someone who wants to just go right out and start finding gold, coins or precious metals right away. Using this takes some practice, technique AND you need to know how to follow directions. With that being said, the instructions are pretty good, just beware you really need to know what you are doing to tweak the controls. I am all in for this adventure so I followed the indoor set up instructions and started to understand how in depth this detecting can get. I ventured outside to the local sand beach and used some real silver coins and random change I had. I wasn't prepared to use my gold rings just yet LOL. I found the detector to only be able to "read" the treasure no more than an inch or two below the surface, I'm still tweaking the settings so I'll update after further attempts. My suggestion to you, while practicing getting the techniques down, is to use light plastic zip bags to enclose your practice treasure so you don't loose it. I love that this set comes with a spade that breaks down for digging out the treasure, a carrying case and headphones. I have added photos and videos to show how the settings are pretty true to the instructions. My only real rub on this is it doesn't come with the (2) 9 volt batteries needed to power it, most people don't keep those on hand. I also wish it could read a little deeper than an inch or two in the sand.

I needed to find the property markers for the home I just purchased in order to build a fence, and I wanted to give this a shot before I spent much more on a professional survey. This was a lot more cost-effective, and it did the job well enough in the end. I may decide to use it more for finding buried goodies later on, but it wasn’t on my mind at the time of purchase.

After it was delivered on time, I assembled the detector. It went together easily and took no more than a few minutes. The length is adjustable, so it is easy to find the most comfortable position. I put the batteries in and started searching.

I have no experience detecting, so I set the sensitivity to max and didn’t set any metal discrimination. This probably caused me to lose some time, since I kept hearing the beeps and would start digging where I thought the buried post might be. I was getting a bit frustrated by finding a spot that would look like it was hitting a target and digging, only to find nothing. I am fully convinced that this was user-error, and not the fault of the detector.

I gave up after about an hour and went back inside to read the manual. I’d seen the “Pin Point” button while I was searching, but it didn’t seem to do anything. After I read that you had to hold the button down for that feature to work, I went back outside and tried again, even though it was after dark. The yellow color was appreciated, since it was easy to see when it’s on the ground at night.

Using the pin point feature, I found the buried stake in about five minutes. The detector homed right onto it, and I could watch the signal bars to find the maximum level and center the target right in the middle of the coil.

The next day, I used it in the back yard and found a nail about three inches down, so it’s definitely able to find buried metal objects. I’m sure that with more practice and adjustments, you could find plenty of objects with it.

Since I’m pleased that I saved several hundred dollars with this, I’m giving it a perfect score.

I purchased this metal detector for my teenage son! He has really gotten into hunting for treasures and this metal detector has been super fun for him! It also comes with a carrying bag…The metal detector fits in the carry bag best when the middle bar is detached. Everything including the headphones and shovel will fit the carry bag without issue....Very cool!!!
This metal detector is super lightweight and that has allowed my son to search for hours without his arms getting tired, but so far he Has only done searching in some nearby fields and a couple people’s backyards. He is excited to be able to search more areas including the beach when we go to California! We tested the metal detector on some Gold and silver coins. As well as seeing how it reacts to steel and iron. The detector is awesome & working great!! It’s seriously only takes a few minutes to figure out how to use it properly. If you have any problems figuring it out, If you have any problems figuring it out, I suggest reading the instructions if you need help in understanding if this metal detector is detecting the metal you want. All the tests we have done with this metal detector worked great and It was a lot of fun searching our back yard and around the house for gold. In the near future, I will take my metal detector out into the real world (a park or something & hopefully the beach) and hopefully/eventually find something valuable in the grass, dirt or sand! Searching for valuables is a fun hobby and this is a great metal detector for anyone who is new to treasure hunting. Overall it has worked great and been super fun for my son! Definitely recommended!

So I'm new to detecting and I didnt have the money to spend on a higher end detector yet. So as a starter I decided to buy this one. It was pretty easy to set up. It's super light weight. I like how it has a lot of features that some of the higher end models have. I also like how it's water proof. It does feel a little bit flimsy and cheap but It works well enough considering the price. I've used it the past couple days. I did notice sometimes it doesnt always pick up a target on the first swing while open air testing. Kind of concerning as the point of a metal detector is to find metal objects that you dont know are there. Although there is a bunch of settings for sensitivity and discrimination to play with, so I cant exactly blame the machine yet. I will say, it doesnt do it all the time and I have found tons of stuff while detecting in my yard. Sometimes you'll get a little beep and have to keep swinging in the general area to try and find it again and the numbers will jump all over the place. These are usually junk items such as pull tabs, bits of metal flashing, iron, etc. But ricomax does say in the instructions that this will sometimes happen with junk targets. Every coin or decent thing I've found does seem to have a consistent beep and number. Also the accuracy of the number for the target seems to be pretty spot on. So I think it's just a matter of learning how the machine works and getting used to the different tones and how the machine acts to certain targets... Same as most machines I'm guessing. The depth of which it can find a target seems pretty decent. So far I think the deepest thing I've found was about 8". Not too bad. Overall I think this is a good starter machine with good features, good depth, and decent accuracy, and for the price you really can't ask for more. I would definitely reccomend this to someone who wants to get started detecting and doesnt have a bunch of money to spend on a higher end unit. It will absolutely get you out swinging, finding things, and having fun in the process.

To be transparent, this is the first metal detector I have ever used. (So I don’t have an extensive experience to compare it with.)

That being said, my kid loves it. We do a lot of geocaching, and this is going to start coming along with us in these hunts! (Not for the cache specifically, but as an adjacent activity)

Pros are:
- that it comes with extra tools you might need (shovel and pick)
- the tones are easy to hear
- lightweight and easy to handle

Cons are:
- I’m uncertain about the quality (feels kinda cheap)
- I’m curious about how long it will last with rigorous family use

I’ll come back and add pics if we find any treasure LOL

The main problem with the metal detector is its price. Yes it comes with a lot of extras such as headphones, batteries, carrying bag, and a shovel. But you can get something similar for less on Amazon. Quality is decent but the majority of the plastic parts seem to be a bit fragile.
