Weather Station Indoor Outdoor Thermometer Large LCD Display Digital Temperature Humidity Monitor, Weather Thermometer with Calendar and Automatic Light Sensing Function
SKU: GW40.0004
The “Weather Station with Outdoor Sensor” from “ALongSong” is a handy wireless weather station that provides plenty of daily information on its clear digital display.
Set up of the weather station is surprisingly simple. The outdoor sensor requires 2x AAA batteries, which don’t come included, so you’ll need some. The indoor digital display can be plugged into the mains / a USB pot or you can also power it with batteries. Personally, I opted to plug it into the mains using a simple USB plug adaptor.
Linking the display to the outdoor sensor was automatic for me. I have the sensor located in my summerhouse, some 20 meters away from the display unit. It had absolutely no problem at all connecting straight off at this distance and has continued to provide what appears to be consistent and accurate temperature readings from the summerhouse.
During the day the display unit is constantly illuminated with its LCD backing making it very easy to read, even at a distance or a passing glance. At night the blue illuminated backing doesn’t emit too much illumination to bother you if you have it in your bedroom. I have it on top of a chest-of-drawers at the other end of the bedroom and have not found the constant low-level illumination it provides bothersome at all.
The overall quality of the manufacture and materials used for both the display unit and the wireless outdoor sensor are excellent. They’re made from a tough and durable injection moulded hard-plastic that could certainly withstand a few accidental knocks and bumps without suffering any damage.
All in all I’ve been very impressed with the set. It works well, appears to be fairly accurate, and provides easy-to-read real-time information.

I really like the display, it's huge and clear and easy to read at a glance. The backlight turns itself off after a few seconds by default to extend battery life, but it can be turned on with a touch at any time. The only reason it didn't get five stars was that I found some discrepancies in the displayed values, so I wasn't entirely sure how precise its measurements really are, though it seems to be accurate enough overall.

This has a large screen, and the numbers and letters are large and bold enough to make them easy to read, even at an angle.
There is a large weather icon which shows the weather for the next few hours, and an at a glance smile icon shows whether the temperature is comfortable inside. The station has the useful option of setting temperature alerts.
The display is bright enough to read easily, but the screen light auto dims at night to conserve power.
The instructions are detailed and helpful, making it very easy to set up and use.
It can be powered by USB or batteries, allowing flexibility of use.
The external sensor is accurate if correctly placed - not in direct sunlight, etc.
It would be useful if the clock time was driven by the MSF time signal (i.e. the “Rugby Clock”, which isn’t actually at Rugby any more). Each time you switch off the unit, you have to do a manual reset.
Great value, and looks more expensive than it is.

I purchased my parents a similar setup at a local big box lumber store, so thats my comparison.
This runs off of batteries, like theirs, yet i cant figure out how to get it to stay lit up so i can actually see it like theirs without using the USB. (Most places i would hang this are nowhere near an outlet........)
The outdoor temp receiver works great, and has sat out thru rain etc, and is holding up just fine, and is damn accurate, when checking other temp sources.
I woke up the other day, and our bedroom stays pretty warm, but when i walked out i was shocked because we forgot to turn the heat back on, and this read 60 degrees and so did the house thermostat.
Other than the temps, i dont care about the moon cycle, and I always have my watch or phone on me so the time isnt that useful.
Overall i just wish i could figure out how to have it lit up all the time without usb and it would be 5 stars.

I have been looking at weather stations for a while and this one does the job pretty well really, It runs from batteries or USB -C and displays all the basic info you would need, It has a seperate little unit for measuring outside temp and humidity although I couldn't find anywhere saying the IP/waterproof rating for the unit so i have it on a window ledge under the eves of the house,The first time you turn it on it finds the signal and sets all the time and displays the temp/humidity moon phase etc, so far the forecast seems to have been pretty accurate and the display is really nice and clear, It would have been nice to see a full 7 day forecast on it but that's maybe something you pay more money for , I do seem to get bad signals in my bungalow even for the internet and this receives the data fine from the outside unit in the back garden fine but i have to have the main unit on my front rooms windowsill to get a signal for all the data.Overall it's a nice weather station that would have been nice to just see a few little extra features.

The weather device works absolutely fine, no issues.
Used for a week now, tells me the temperature inside the house and outside, the time, humidity and moon phase.
It was simple to set up. Seems to be well made. Very intriguing for my guests trying to guess what this device does. A bit of fun.

Overall this is a good weather station. Easy to set up. One thing I noticed was that when I first got it and plugged it in with the adaptor the screen would go dark after 10 seconds. It seems that whenever the atomic clock is getting the time the screen goes dark. Once the atomic clock was set the screen stayed on. The atomic clock gets the time at 1 am, 2 am and 3 am (and on first use). At these times the screen goes dark for exactly 3 minutes and comes back on. This was so frustrating at first. I thought I had a defective unit and was ready to return it. I finally figured it out and am happy with it.

It's not "smart" like app-based IoT tech, but it's still pretty clever. It syncs with a satellite to keep the clock/calendar running precisely (took about 4 hours to get in sync when first plugged in). It comes with a temp/humidity sensor unit which is installed outside and the data comes back to the weather station to give you a truly accurate local reading. You can add on a total of 3 different external sensors, in case you want to monitor the temps in areas of your home, inside or out. The station also gives you the weather forecast for the next 24 hours. The display adjusts to work well the ambient lighting around it. It comes with a USB-A to USB-C cable which can be used to power the station, but there's also a slot for AA batteries so your station will keep working, even during a power outage.
