This is definitely not the advertised 1000x magnification but this is still a magnificent home microscope for gardeners, coin collectors, etc.

I love that this connects directly to the PC - it was always such a hassle attempting to take pics through the eyepiece of my previous handheld microscope - and it's a feature that makes this much more accessible for children, as well.

This portable microscope is an engaging gadget for kids’ scientific exploration. The lightweight, handheld design is conveniently compact. Setup was easy for viewing on my devices. As a science-loving child, I’d have cherished this user-friendly microscope. While the straightforward operation and size are ideal for sparking curiosity, I’m deducting a star for questionable sturdiness that may not withstand exuberant kids' play. Still a neat educational toy, just be aware the build quality isn't heavy duty. It would make a wonderful gift.

What a great toy! This is a fun toy to play with your kids. It's awesome to put things "under a microscope" and see what they look like through your phone. Set up is relatively easy and it connects to the microscope via a direct WiFi connection (not through the internet). This means you have to disconnect your phone from your home WiFi and connect directly to the device. I installed the app on my Samsung phone and setting up was very straightforward. However, I did have trouble getting the app to work after connecting to it a few times. It seems to be some type of bug and it doesn't happen all the time but it's annoying. The microscope is awesome and I think it's worth the money.

If they fix the connection bug I'd give it 5 stars. I highly recommend regardless.

I recently purchased this microscope, and I am utterly thrilled with its performance and capabilities. As a licensed Amateur Radio (Ham) operator, I sometimes need to repair circuitry on my equipment, and ask you can imagine, most electronic components on circuit boards are REALLY TINY!. I'm in my 60's and my eyesight is not like they were when I was younger. This microscope has helped me repair and/or modify some of my equipment with confidence. I can now easily see, manipulate and solder these tiny components.

We raise goats and I do my own fecal testing with a high end Microscope. My kids have wanted to participate so I got this for them to "help run tests" with me. They love it! Super easy to use and they will get hours of joy from it.

To keep the kids entertained on iPad and iPhone without using these stupid games the whole time, this is quite cool to experiment and awaken their curiosity.

I ordered this Digital Microscope to introduce my granddaughter (6 yrs old) to the science of magnification. The kid-friendly design is non-intimidating, and easy to use (once the initial setup is done). I like that the product comes with everything needed (batteries, lens cover, carry case, user manual, etc) and even a set of prepared slides. However, the initial setup is a bit of a challenge. To enable usage with my laptop, I went to the Microsoft app store and installed the hiView app. To use with my android phone, I was able to scan the Q-code that is in the manual, and download the app from the Google Playstore. I then had to explore the different options and settings in the app. Once up and running, I was able to get very impressive crystal clear hi-def hi-magnification images. Besides the prepared slides (butterfly wing, etc) I tried out a leaf, a feather, and then my finger - my granddaughter became fascinated seeing things so magnified. And with the app, it is easy to capture images/video. The manual is OK, but could be better. It doesn't provide a lot of info on getting the best image, using the backlighting, etc. Also, there are several plastic "thingie" parts that came with the scope and which I have no idea/info on what they are used for. Is this a laboratory grade scientific instrument? No. But for the price, this a great way to introduce a child/young adult to using a microscope and discovering how ordinary things become extraordinary when they are highly magnified. Two thumbs up!
