This microscope helps a lot if you are into component level board repairs. I had a liquid damaged Macbook Air logicboard that I needed to fix. This little thing helped a lot to find the defective parts and replace. I saved about $200, not sending the board to a repair shop.
Lens is good, and the screen is bright with good quality. Zoom level can be adjusted moving lens up and down and using digital zoom buttons on the device. Also, you can control the brightness of LED lights on the side using the attached controller.

The plastic mount is a little too flexible and wobbly. If you're trying to view slides of liquid you have to be super gentle and go very slow. I'm not convinced that the zoom rating is correct, it doesn't look quite like 1000x at max zoom. But overall I'm happy with it and enjoy using it. The monitor is nice and has good quality picture.

The microscope works well enough focus is a little rough. It has a good clear picture and the side lighting is a real help. The power button on my unit was stuck down when i first powered it up so it just was stuck in a start up -shut down mode until i freed up the power button then all worked as it should. I would like o try the remote control but it did not come with a battery and no listing of what battery is required. Over all i like the unit and for the price it fine.

Didn't work on my windows , Tried what you said it still didn't work. Camera still won't view on computer, tried 3 different capture programs. They all saw my web cam but not this camera. I even unpluged the web cam and it still didn't work.
The pole is not tall enough to get larger coins in view, it would be great if it was about 3 more inch.

Best feature is NO Website required !!! **Don't risk your IP with who is watching ;).
Nice clear picture &good amount of zoom.
Must buy SD card separately.
Only downside is the stand is too small for larger size boards or parts.

This is a wonderful product. The screen has good resolution and color density. Focusing is very easy, just a slow turn of the knob. This is a Christmas present for my 7 year old Grandson. I will update after Christmas. No battery is included in the remote which is why I gave it 4 stars. You also need to purchase a micro-sd. I did know that when I bought it. The battery is a 2032 round battery which we just happened to have. So far well worth the price. The LED lights are great. You need these to clearly see anything.
After Christmas edit: went to 5 stars. My Grandson loves it. I bought a variety of sample slides for him. Scorpion was really a big deal. The lights are amazingly helpful. We looked at different US bills. The art work under the microscope was incredible. Highly recommended for kids and adults. Great way to interact with your child or Grandchild.

After Christmas edit: went to 5 stars. My Grandson loves it. I bought a variety of sample slides for him. Scorpion was really a big deal. The lights are amazingly helpful. We looked at different US bills. The art work under the microscope was incredible. Highly recommended for kids and adults. Great way to interact with your child or Grandchild.

When I ordered this, I was thinking that it would be great for everything. I am finding now that I wish that it had a lower zoom. Would like maybe 0 to 20. I don't need that much power.
I did try looking at a coin. You can not get it all in the view finder at the same time, I suspect that there would be a good demand with one that could.
Quality: It seems loose when adjusting the head up and down. Image is sharp.
I got the adjustable lights, Sometimes I have to push them to stay out of the way. I wonder if it would be better with just the lights in the head.
I actually got it to look at circuit boards and components, I have not really used it for that yet.

I love this thing! I just got it along with some 3D printer parts which of course I inspected thoroughly with it. I'll be sending them back. (see the picture) It's very handy and easy to use. I like that you can turn on grid lines although I wish they would be captured with the picture.
I really want to keep this thing but the SD card won't latch properly; I had to hold it in to take a picture. I'm in a quandary because I think it's a minor problem that I can probably fix if I take it apart however, I try to fix it and can't I'm probably stuck with it.
Update: I decided to repair. The problem was that the slot in the housing wasn't aligned properly. I used a file and opened up the slot and everything works as it should. Minor repair and I'm happy I decided to keep it. I love this thing!
