Kids Metal Detector, Lightweight Metal Detectors kids with LCD Display and Waterproof Search Coil, High Sensitivity Metal Detector for Kids with Rake, Shovel and Bags for Treasure Seeking
SKU: GW50.0095
I have been practicing with this for a while now and I can say, that it works well and it‘s been perfect for a beginner in the hobby. The controls are easy and intuitive to use and it is sensitive enough to go at least 8“ deep with small items. The constructions seems sturdy and there were no issues putting mine together. If you're just starting out. I recommend this unit. I Know I've had a blast with mine.

For many years I used a White metal detector that was much more expensive but paid for itself in treasure found. When it finally died my son in law loaned me his Garrett ACE 250 detector. I used it for many hours of treasure hunting and was so impressed with the quality and accuracy that I purchased one for myself! I have found gold and silver jewelry and pocket-fulls of coins with the ACE 250, often when others had already searched the areas with lesser quality equipment. With just a bit of practice anyone can be successful with this machine! I highly recommend the affordable Garrett ACE 250 to anyone wanting to enjoy this great hobby!

My son found a ring on the beach the first time he used it. Now it‘s time to get it appraised... It will likely pay for itself with my sons first buried treasure find.

Disclaimer: I never purchased this item, I rented one from a local store.
Lost my wedding ring at the beach last night. After returning home and searching my entire house, it was obvious my ring fell off my beach chair and was “lost." I returned to the beach with a headlamp, bucket and lantern. I outlined a 10` x `10` grid in the sand where we were sitting earlier that evening.
After searching for 2 hours with a flashlight I gave up and came to grips with the fact that it was lost. I dug a massive hole in the sand as a marker just incase I wanted to return the next morning to continue the search. My wife was very sad, which translated into me being sad as well (otherwise I would have been fine replacing with a $9 silicone ring).
This morning I woke up and searched for used metal detectors on Craigslist, finding a few within a very reasonable price range. After searching the model names I discovered the ones available for sale on Craigslist were sub-par, and owning a metal detector was not necessarily something I cared about.
I called a local tool rental company and found the Garrett Ace 250 available to rent for $25. Picked up the rental first thing in the morning, within 5 minutes of using the device (incredibly easy to figure out for a newbie even without instructions) I found my ring.
I was very skeptical and figured the rental and attempt to use a metal detector would only serve the purpose of feel like I did everything possible to find the ring before giving up. I was SHOCKED to not only find my ring (which was buried under 4" of sand) but to have done so in about 5 minutes.
I might actually purchase a unit myself just as a "backup" as my family lives at the beach, and I have a tendency to lose valuable things :-)
100% recommend this model for ease, quality and accuracy.

This is a basic starter unit. Works well. Have a helper that can use. I use a 350, but am looking to advance. Good item at inexpensive price.
