67mm Kaleidoscope Filter Special Effects Filter with 3pcs Vacuum Cleaning Cloths Nano B Series
SKU: KF01.2487
K&F usually comes through with great products, and this filter is more of the same.
The lens has a lot of glass and heft in the hand.
I was more than satisfied with center sharpness, but just realize the farther away you shoot...there are limitations. This would be for portrait work and even macro...both still and video. I put this filter on my Sony 135mm f/1.8 GM with the Sony A7RIV...center was very sharp.
This is a fun filter to use, and for the money...a great value.
Images look solid as does video...as long as you keep the distance down.
Comes with a nice case and some cleaning cloths...for that hefty chunk of quality glass.
Nice piece of kit. Thumbs up!

I normally stay far away from weird filters that produce strange effects, mists or grades. But I'd not seen one of these before and thought I'd give it a go. I'm glad I did.
I thought it would be some kind of gimmicky plastic filter but on unpacking, was surprised to find it made of glass and metal. This is a hefty filter! Once screwed in place, it rotates easily for the kaleidoscope effect you want.
This is a niche filter that isn't for everyday use, but I have to say it's got my imagination going. I do a lot of light streak/long shutter night light photography, and gave it a try on a locked off camera and lens to capture cars passing at night. The resulting photos are insane. Very abstract and visually appealing (no, I'm not going to show you so you'll nick the idea!), I'll get a lot more use out of this than I thought. I'm sure other pro photographers will laugh at the sight of such a filter, but don't knock it until you try it! I'm very happy with the shots it's given me.

Yeah, your image will duplicate and the refraction looks nice, but outside of video, you won't necessarily use this as often for photos. In fact, for video, this would only make sense as a consistent ongoing component of story-telling or atmosphere, perhaps. It doesn't bind in the threading, and it is easy to mount or dismount. I'm glad that KandF is expanding their FX filter line, and this filter represents a lot of progress in their expansion. I recommend this, with the proviso that it may not be used as often as you may anticipate.

This is just one of many K&F filters I have in my kit and, like all their other products, is well made. This is one solid chunk of glass and the surfaces are cleanly cut and free of blemishes. It comes in a protective plastic case and includes 3 cleaning cloths.
Now, this is obviously not a filter you're going to use all the time. It creates a fun kaleidoscope effect that is best reserved for very specific moments, as it's a very strong effect. I like that the filter rotates, so once you have it screwed onto your lens, you can either creates a rotating effect (video) or dial in the exact angle for stills.
Due to the nature of this type of filter, it is a bit chunky and heavy, as it needs to be thick enough to get the crystal facets at properly steep angles. I got the largest size (82mm), as it offers the most versatility since I can always use reducer rings on smaller diameter lenses, but you generally can't go the other way around (small filter on a larger diameter lens). This ensures the widest lens compatibility.
Overall, I'm quite pleased with this filter. It'll be a nice addition to grab a shot here or there for music videos and art pieces. K&F has consistently delivered great quality at an affordable price and this filter continues that streak of success.

This filter is obviously a specialized filter. I won’t be using it often but it does make some interesting effects. I got the 82mm thread version and it is very heavy (that tells me it’s actual crystal/glass and not just optical plastic). You can even use it with your phone camera if you just hold it up in front of the lens. I’m happy to add this filter to my collection.

I ordered this K&F Concept 79mm Handheld Subtle Kaleidoscope Filter to use in special situations.
I have another kaleidoscope filter from K&F Concepts that screws onto a lens. While I do like the effect, it's sometimes a bit over the top. This handheld filter offers a lot more control, because you can cover as much or as little of your lens as you like.
My largest lens requires an 82mm filter. Even though this filter at its widest point is only 79mm, it will reach to the edge of the lens because of the way it is designed. Holding the filter at an angle, or moving it futher and closer to the lens, produces some interesting effects.
This is not the sort of thing that you are going to use every day. But when faced with an otherwise uninteresting scene, you may find that this filter will liven things up. As with just about every other K&F Concepts product, you'll also get a stack of cleaning cloths with this filter. It also comes in a nice plastic case that will protect it from getting scratched when you toss it into your camera bag.
The glass that this filter is made of is quite thick. You'll find that it has a noticeable effect on the sharpness of your images.

This feels good quality. Comes in a great protective case complete with 3 cleaning cloths.
This is a threaded lens and went on no problem to my 67mm canon lens
While the lens will twist round to be honest I couldn't really tell any difference in the position and an effect on the image.
However the result is pretty effective especially when there is a busy background

This Kaleidoscope effect filter is heavy and built tough like a fancy tank. I got the filter sized up larger than my lens to help prevent vignetting so it adds a bit more weight than the actual filter size should be. I like the effect that this creates when shooting photos. When shooting video it's hard to dial in the prism for that cool shift and dreamy look but as long as you are stable and locked in on a tripod it looks good. K&F makes some fantastic filters and this one is no different.

If this product wasn't available on Vine I probably would not have gotten it for my general photography needs. However, I did get this as something different to play around with and the quality is definitely what you would expect from K&F Concept. I would definitely recommend that if you are interesting in this kind of item that you get this in a size fitting a zoom lens over a prime. This is specifically helpful for being able to adjust how much or little of the prism you are actually looking through. While I don't shoot much in the way of video on average I do believe this filter would be more useful in a video setting for transitional effects than in still image work as turning the prism while taking video has a really neat effect that reminds me of some of the more whimsical/dreamy scene transitions in various movies. Honestly if you want something that makes your approach to photography or videography different and experimental then this product is absolutely worth it.
