77mm Solar Filter ND1000000,20-Stop Solid Neutral Density Filter Celestial Event Photography Filter with 28 Multi-Layer Coatings for DSLR Camera Nano-Xcel Series

I have never used a filter like this before. Of course, I put it on the lens, aimed at the sun, and shot a couple of pictures. They are pretty primitive - definitely beginner produced. I did start reading how other people use these. I am excited by the possibilities. I'll get better.

I got this for my Panasonic Lumix FZ300 bridge camera so I can take photos of the sun and especially for the eclipse coming up here in April. I'll update this review later with photos of the eclipse, but this filter is absolutely fantastic for photographing the sun or extremely bright lights in general. Pretty much flawless and really great build quality. This is a very good piece of gear for a more than fair price

Got this with the intent of capturing more artistic shots with slow shutter speed (water flowing, etc) and helps keep out light from just over exposing the photo.
It screws onto the end of the lens and works great.
It even came with a couple of screen wipes to wipe away any finger prints or dust.

First of all: this filter is really, REALLY dark. It's a little on the dark side even for direct shots of the Sun. I suppose it would be useful for close-ups of welding arcs, or maybe detailed photos of a nuclear detonation. Or EXTREMELY long exposures in bright daylight (sandy beach, high noon, f/11, ISO 100, 20 minutes?)
This filter was well-packaged, although the ribbed side of the case did leave a small "print" on the filter's front surface. I haven't yet tried to remove it.
The attached solar image was shot on a Canon 6D II, 100-400L at 400mm, 1/160, f/8, handheld and manually focused, stabilization on. I had to crank the ISO to 2500 to get this level of exposure. No other manipulation besides cropping and exporting as JPEG.
Ideally, for direct solar photography, I'd prefer a filter three or four steps LIGHTER than this, shooting at lower ISO -- but I'm still going to have plenty of fun with this one!
There's no specific information about IR or UV blocking on this filter, so I'm a bit reluctant to use it with the optical viewfinder. It's PROBABLY safe, but I err on the side of caution when it comes to my eyes. I didn't see any signs of trouble with my camera during the five or ten minutes that I was taking test shots.
Recommended, but know what you're getting into. And don't be afraid of the dark!

K&F Concept 67mm ND1000000 Ultra Dark ND Camera Lens Filter
REVIEW
I like that this filter is label specifically for solar photography. No Guess work. At 1M rating (20 stops) you can be certain about your safety while photographing.
The sun is just starting to come out once and a while (after winter) so I'll do some sample shots and report back. I want to get in some practice before the next eclipse.
The lens seems really well made, I like the included cleaning cloths and protective case.

Bottom line - wouod highly recommend for solar photos.
I previously made a mylar filter, but I just couldn't get crisp photos. I saw this and thought I'd give it a try.
The filter seems to be excellent quality. This nano-x line by K&F is a big step up in terms of quality versus the normal k&f filters...not quite as good as say a peter mckinnon edition ND filter, but for the difference in price (less than 1/6 the cost), this is an awesome deal.
The case is high quality and has rubber ribbing to firmly hold the filter in place while closed, but still makes it easy to remove the filter from the case without getting finger prints all over the lens.
Can't wait for the upcoming solar eclipse. The photo I took was handheld and using a $70 - 420-800 mm lens (fully manual, lightdow lens)...so in terms of image quality of the photo, please keep that in mind. The only processing I did to the image of the sun was to crop and select B&W photo, as this lens does suffer from chromatic aberration.

This is a well made and functional solar filter. I purchased the 82mm diameter version, ND1000000, 20 stop for use with a Fujifilm 150-600mm lens. The filter has a sturdy metal frame, with raised grooves to assist in loosening and tightening the filter. The filter itself is glass, but quite lightweight. It installed easily and securely to the lens, and allowed the lens cap to go on over the filter. It also comes with a nice carry case when not in use.
The images of the sun with auto white balance come through in a neutral gray color, but boosting the white balance to a manual 8,000K gave a more pleasing yellow hue.
My only question that I’m looking to have answered is the IR transmission of this filter. I want to make sure if I have this pointing at the sun for several hours during the upcoming eclipse (taking interval photos every five minutes or so), will enough infra red wavelengths come in to heat up and damage the camera sensor.
Certainly a quality product and great for solar imaging.

This is a 20 stops ND filter!!
This kind of filter is used for Long exposure photography.
Long exposure photography is a technique that involves using a slow shutter speed to capture an image over an extended period of time, typically ranging from a few seconds to several minutes or even hours. This allows you to capture the movement of subjects in a unique and creative way, blurring them while keeping stationary elements sharp.
I got my Rokinon 50mm Manual focus lens and gave it a spin. The images look sharp and the colors are loyal to the lens without the filter.
K&F makes great and affordable filters and this one is no exception.

This ND filter reduces light by a whopping 20-stops. For anyone wanting to get extra creative and push their photography, this filter may do it. This much reduction in light isn't suitable for most circumstances, but that's what makes it challenging and fun to use. Some things it does is it enables ultra-long exposures, or long exposures with a wide open lens and shallow depth of field.
