82mm Solar Filter 20-Stops,ND1000000 Solid Neutral Density Filter Solar Filter For Eclipse With 18 Multi-Layer Coatings For Dslr Camera Nano-Klear
SKU: KF01.2625V1
I purchased this “K&F Concept 77mm ND 100000 Filter,” after a substantial amount of research, specifically for photographing the upcoming Solar Eclipse on April 8, 2024. As a ND100000 it provides for a 16.6-stop light reduction and is “mostly used for solar photography and long exposures, such as solar eclipses.”
The filter itself is packed in a branded circular plastic case. K&F uses the same size case for many different sized filters relying on internal raised ridges to prevent the filter from slipping inside the closed container. My personal feeling is that this makes easy differentiation between sizes and storage more difficult than it should be though I appreciate the hardness of the plastic used for its protective quality.
The filter is made from lightweight aluminum with matte black coating. The screw threads are well cut and the filter screws on and off easily. Comparing the filter to other K&F Concept filters I own I am confident that when the eclipse occurs it will perform as well as the others I have and I am looking forward to using it on April 8 to phtograph the eclipse. I consider this filter to be a strong 4 star filter and easily and securely recommend it to others for its photographic quality.

However, although Vine Members pay nothing up front to get these free products they are considered by the Internal Revenue Service as taxable income at the full retail price at the time we get them and we, therefore, must pay taxes on these items.
On a more personal note I often read reviews for products I am considering buying and rely on those reviews that are detailed and come off as honest and full reviews on the product. I therefore try my best to give a true and honest review based on my own experiences with the product.
My Rating Scale:
1 star. This is the absolute lowest I can go and is a definite recommendation against being purchased.
2 stars. Less than average - having issues that I try to delineate in my review. I personally would not pay for this item.
3 stars. Average - neither great nor terrible. It will do the job it is supposed to do but without any obvious good or bad issues.I might or might not buy this item depending on the severity of my need or want.
4 stars. While the product is better than average it is not an excellent product. I would probably buy this product.
5 stars. Enough above average that it exceeds my expectations of how the product would and should perform. A product getting this rating is highly recommended.
Further middle ratings: The above explanation is the base of the recommendations I give in a review. Some ratings are further rated as soft (1/2 star below), solid (the star rating given) or strong (1/2 star above)

I bought for the eclipse. And having done lots of research, and the reading reviews… I think people will try to take pics of the total eclipse with filter on. This filter is meant for sun. So when the moon covers completely, you take the filter off. Otherwise it will be too dark. You need this filter for the phase up to and after the totality - for all partial portions.

Can't wait to see if this will allow me to take great eclipse pictures on my Nikon camera!

I purchased this for my Pentax K-50 camera with a 50-200mm lens to use when the solar eclipse comes on April 8th, 2024.
I finally had a clear day with full sun today, 3/8/2024 (one month away from April 8th!!) so I put this filter on my lens and took some pictures of the sun. They came out great!! This filter will work for the total solar eclipse and I'm excited.
Buy one that fits your lens and you won't be disappointed!!!

I have a number of solar filters, but these ND filters are awesome! The solar filter(s) that I have often leave a bit of a blue tint to the image, resulting in the photos requiring color correction after the fact. This ND filter doesn't affect the coloring of the sun; it's quite nice because these have the effect of just a pair of incredibly thick sunglasses. I can't wait to update this review with pictures of the solar eclipse!

Bought for the upcoming eclipse and did a test shot on a Sony A7r3 with Tamron 150-600mm with 82mm filter. I attached a test shot and I'm happy with the results.

The K&F ND100000 comes in a large case (see photo). This is a quibble, but I prefer a smaller box for a 58mm filter; it takes too much space. As with all K&F products, this filter is well constructed. It screws on easily on my lens and has large knurles for easy grip.
I compared two shots using my prime 24mm lens. One is a shot without the filter f8 @ 1/1000. The other is with the K&F ND100000 stop filter f8 @ 1 minute 15 seconds. As can be seen the colors are shifted a bit, so this is not a true neutral density. But they can be corrected in post. At this price point, the colors are close enough for most photography.

I've got a few other filters from K&F and this ND100000 is no different!
While I haven't had the chance to try it with an actual eclipse yet, I can confirm that it works well with just taking a photo of the sun, or other very bright light source. Remember, never expose your camera sensor or your naked eyes directly to the sun or you or it will go blind!
Build quality is on par with other K&F products. Very happy with it!

I don't know if I'll ever get any real value from these solar shots, but at least I got to experience it because of this ND10000 filter! I'll have to keep experimenting (and probably get a longer lens) to get better shots in the future, but it's pretty cool to see the cool spots in the sun's surface on my own photo.
