Yes it is basic, but except for a tripod foot, what more do you need? Light enough that carbon fiber would be a waste of money and here's a tip. If you have a decent tripod with a good head unit, it probably has a 3/8" thread. For $6 you can get a 1/4 to 3/8 adapter and then use this with that head unit. Which is what I did.

...works as advertised and seems to be quite sturdy. I would recommend it if you need helpfor stabilizing for camera for long exposures.

This is exactly as advertised. Inexpensive. Light weight and reasonably priced. I wouldn't want to put a heavy 300 - 600 lens on it, and I would have paid more for some sort of quick release, but it'll do the trick.

Decent quality, but lighter materials to reduce weight offset durability of materials used.

Monopods are for stability when a tripod is cumbersome but support is needed.

Decide how you want to use it before ordering. I had several things that I thought would be easier with this tool. So far so good.

Great monopod. Can be used as a walk-in stick as well
