I use microphones like these in my videos for YouTube. On my smartphone, I have a "VU" meter, so that I can tell I am actually recording sound, and how powerful the signal is.
On these Boya microphones, the "power" of the signal strength is not as strong as I prefer, but the audio is very clear, and I have a one button fix for that in Post Production to equalize the audio track. As long as the microphone is recording CLEAN, CRISP, CLEAR sound? I can fix a low volume without introducing any additional noise.
But the signal strength indication on my smartphone is a tad lower than my comfort level, but because I rate them at around a 4.5 or better, I rounded up to a five, they are excellent microphones.
Oh, an that silver spot in the center? That's the MUTE button, the light flashes red whilst in mute mode. Boya mics have been good for a decent number of the videos I have made.
That is another reason why I give them five stars here... the sound is indeed good, just slightly lower of a strong signal than I prefer.

These are high-quality audio microphones. It is compatible with both iPhone and Android devices and it comes with a portable charging case.
The sound quality is above par. I have several wireless microphones, and this one is superior to all of them. The sound quality alone far outweighs its counterparts, and the background noise seems to disappear!
It has a dual system, which allows you to record two separate entities simultaneously. Unfortunately, I have not used this feature yet. Once I do, I will update this review.
The battery life seems to be more extended than other microphones I have.
These are exceptional portable microphones at this price point.
