This ring-flash cost me £20.00 less than my previous one and is 20 timers better than that one was. This one has a metal flash 'foot' and so is much less likely to be damaged during putting on and taking off. It has a ratio control meaning that one side or the other can be fired rather than only both at the same time. It switches itself off after a certain period but then re-activates itself when the camera is switched on. It also knows what f-stop the lens is set to and displays it. Altogether a brilliant buy for the money. The only problem - as stated repeatedly - is the manual which is written in well-crafted Chinglish.

When I look at the price of similar ring flashes which do the exact same as this lower priced item I wonder how others justify their prices. This product is excellent value and does what it says on the tin ,so to speak

OK..here's the deal...I have read some ridiculously dumb comments and reviews by clearly ridiculous and dumb people who have no idea either what they wanted or how to utilise the ring flash once they had received it. Here are the downsides to owning this particular ringflash:Here now are the irritations: The small pamphlet manual translated from Chinese into Chinglish isn't that easy to follow IF YOU ARE A COMPLETE NUMPTY. For most of us however it is all fairly self explanatory and dare I say intuitive. The device itself offers a robust light ideal for in the field macro work, like all of these devices it will only work as effectively as the person using it...ie don't expect to get perfect TTL metering when using extension tubes or reversed lenses. For the money....around a third of the cost of a comparable 'name' brand RF you cannot go wrong.Within ten minutes of receiving the unit I was using it attached to a Nikon D800 and Sigma 105 2.8 macro and it gave me astonishing results.manual or TTL...can't be faulted.

Excellent piece of kit, wish I had bought one years ago as the first flash - you can use it for any and everything, and for close up work and for example ebay listing pictures it does a brilliant job. Battery life is very good, I put in some part charged NiMH and have taken dozens and dozens of photos without needed to recharge. Extremely easy to use, and on NIkon the exposures come out perfectly with no or minimal adjustment.

It's too early in my usage for some assessments but this product appears to be well made and it certainly works well producing well balanced light coverage. Although it doesn't possess massive power (GN15) this isn't a problem because this unit is for macro work. Having said that, it will double as a normal flash in extremis although a normal bounce-head flash would be the preferred option for most. It is supplied with a variety of adaptor rings to suit various lens filter mount sizes, which is good but considering its primary use is for macro photography it was disappointing to find that it did not include one to fit a popular macro lens, namely the 105 mm Micro Nikkor (the one I use most) fortunately, I also use Cokin filters and I did have an adaptor ring for their system that not only fits the Nikkor but also is a perfect fit in the ring-flash unit so if you find the same problem, that is a simple solution.Time will tell whether this product's performance lives up to first impressions but so far I have only good things to say, other than that one small caveat, and when you consider the cost of similar kit from the likes of Nikon and Canon it has the potential to be the ideal purchase decision.

Fitted on my D7200 and working fine. Very solid feel about it. I originally purchased a cheaper one £20 -£25.00 and returned it as the build quality was not very good and lacked TTL. Did consider getting a Metz or Sigma But my budget would not run to it, so I went for this one I think I made a good decision. Early days but looking good

I do like this but the instructions are NOT clear and it is difficult to find out exactly how to work it correctly. Looks and feels good quality. It wold be even better if I could source a 62mm adapter to fit my sigma lens.
