77mm Variable ND Filter, Fader ND2 to ND400 Adjustable HD Neutral Density Grey Filter with Cleaning Cloth for Camera Lenses
SKU: SKU0129
If you plan to film anything outdoors this is a must, which makes it even better for such a low price. I've only used it a couple times so far, but I haven't noticed any major issues with the footage I've taken with my A6500 and 18-105mm lens. If you have multiple lens you'd like to use this with I'd suggest stepdown rings.
The only that could improve is if it had some sort of marker to show which stop you're currently on. Right now I judge through the screen, but it would be nice to know exactly the stop I'm on.

I found this filter to work as advertised. I think if you’re getting into neutral density photography or video this is a great place to start. I am now transitioning into fixed filters and changing them as the light changes rather than using this adjustable one but I do think this is the best place to start

If you shoot photo (or specifically video) outdoors in the sunlight, you NEED a variable ND filter.
For video, if you're shooting 30 FPS, you need to keep your shutter speed at 1/60 (because of the 180 rule) for natural blur and smoothness. If you want a nice blurry background at f/2.8, even at ISO 100, there's a great chance your image will be horribly exposed. Your only options are to increase the shutter speed (and compromise the natural look with distracting "choppiness") or crank up to f/16, which will flatten your image and get rid of that blurry background you wanted!
In comes the variable ND filter. When applied, like variable sunglasses, it allows how much light passes through, kind of like an intimidating bouncer at a night club. So just twist the ring on the filter and you can achieve your shot perfectly!
With this specific filter, two small things bummed me out:
1. The ring doesn't have actual stops, just continuous rotation so you can't really keep track of the specific amount of light you're letting in.
2. When the filter is on my Tamron 28-75 2.8 lens, I can't put the lens cap on at the same time. Not a deal breaker, but annoying when you want to quickly take a picture or shoot some video.
But for the price, it's hard to argue this isn't a great purchase.

This is a product I chose after reading the reviews. It is highly recommended for starter photographer. The adjustable feature is definitely.
I have taken multiple photos with and without the filter, and will different settings on the filter, and I can see the improvements in the results.

It's a very good ND filter. What I appreciate most about these type of filters is that they are adjustable and most importantly they are good value, that brings it all together.

For me this filter fulfills its purpose and it is currently the best filter at this price

Great product, you can easily shoot video with a large aperture up to 1.4, no vignette in my case or anything weird as you don't have to close it that far to get to that point.

Excellent filter in many ways, for example the convenience of not adding and removing multiple filters of increasing density to find the right setting. Once you have learned it, it gives very good results.

Fits perfectly to my Sigma lenses. The workmanship is very high quality. I find the padded box that goes with it very practical. The filter can easily keep up with the expensive ones.
