This is great for too down shots or to have more control over portrait shots! The boom arm is a little in the short side so it can be hard to counter balance, but on the plus side it’s great for right situations. The 1/4” screw is great not just for camera mounting but also lights and small rig equipment, very versatile.

I have been getting into food photography and needed a budget friendly way to get those crisp top-down shots. I did not want to go out of my way and buy a whole new tripod or rig to get this shot. This accessory is the perfect solution because it allows you to connect it to a tripod that you already own. I attached my own ball-head to it and put my Sony a6300 on it and had no issues. It was attached to my Manfrotto befree aluminum tripod. With this light setup, it works out very well. If you have a heavier setup then you can always add a counterweight to the hook on the opposite end.Pros:PortableBudget friendlyCompatible with almost any tripodHas a hook to counter balanceCons:Wish it extended a little longerIn conclusion,
Helps you get those top-down shots without breaking the bank! Helps you get those top-down shots without breaking the bank! Helps you get those top-down shots without breaking the bank! Helps you get those top-down shots without breaking the bank!

In my previous review, I noted missing parts: no way to attach part which receives ball head to this device, included tripod screw not long enough to decently attach to ball head, supposed to have a hook on opposite end with piece to hold counterweight: missing that assembly. I was very unhappy and returned the unit to Amazon.
K&F reached out to me and after several emails, they offered to send a new unit directly. Since I have been looking for something like this product, I accepted their offer.
The new unit, sent directly from China, is what I should have received earlier. There are no missing parts, there is an instruction sheet, all went together properly and works as advertised. I am guessing the earlier product (which came in a plain brown box, BTW, not the properly-labeled one which I received the second unit) had been returned by someone and either was not completely returned or pieces were lost at Amazon.
Based on the new unit, I can now recommend it. Keep in mind that this is not an industrial-strength unit (nor is it priced like one). But for general-purpose use, it is certainly adequate. I suggest you keep an eye on the weight balance so it does not tip over if you put too much weight on the bullhead end (there is a hook on the other end for a counterweight, but I don't think you would want to overweight that end either).
For the price, recommended for light/medium weight cameras. For heavier duty, you will likely need a much heavier and much more expensive unit. This fits the bill for me, and I recommend K&F's customer support for their followup.

Very strong tripod arm that can be used with most cameras. You can be confident that once your camera is secure you are able to get great angles by using this sturdy tripod arm.

Helps set up the camera for a firm angled view of the night sky. Will also be used to mount the camera pointing downwards.

The product works as advertised but it struggles to hold my D500 and ring light steady. I have to really tighten the adjustors down hard to try and get it not to droop after tightening.

This tripod arm does its job. It adds about 40cm which can be used as a height extension -or more usefully as a horizontal bar which can place a camera directly overhead of the object (in close-up work). You'll need to use a counterweight of course -and probably one on the main tripod. The arm comes disassembled, so if you're clueless with such things, go online and check out assembly and how it should look. As always with cheap alloy castings, be very careful not to cross-thread the various parts. The 1/4 -3/8" adaptor was not needed on my set-up (but it's something you'll want to hang on to).
